Ishak Anwar: Real Estate Developers Are Trusted Custodians of Clients’ Investments, with Transparency and Execution at the Core of Trust
Eng. Ishak Anwar, Chairman of Prime Developments, emphasized that a real estate developer’s responsibility goes far beyond selling units and handing over properties. It extends to safeguarding clients’ investments, honoring commitments, and delivering projects in accordance with agreed specifications and the highest standards of integrity.
Speaking during a televised interview on the “Sonnaa Al ForSa” (Opportunity Makers) program, Anwar shared his vision of trust and accountability in real estate development, highlighting the importance of protecting clients’ rights and establishing long-term relationships built on transparency.
Anwar described the developer as a “trusted custodian” of both the project and clients’ investments, responsible for complying with regulatory requirements, honoring approved master plans, and delivering properties as promised. He stressed that this responsibility continues beyond handover, extending into the operational phase and the residents’ experience.
### Development That Prioritizes Clients’ Interests
Anwar explained that any changes to a project's master plan should be driven by genuine improvements that enhance the project's quality and benefit its clients, rather than simply increasing saleable areas or maximizing profits at the expense of buyers.
He added that respecting clients means more than fulfilling contractual obligations; it also means honoring every commitment and promise made throughout the purchasing journey.
### Real Execution Over Marketing Promises
Discussing how buyers should choose a real estate developer, Anwar highlighted the importance of reviewing a developer's track record, understanding the values and principles behind the company, and assessing actual construction progress on-site.
He also noted that advertising campaigns alone cannot establish a developer's credibility or financial strength. Genuine execution and tangible progress remain the strongest indicators of a company's commitment to its clients.
### Clients as Partners Throughout the Development Journey
The Chairman of Prime Developments emphasized that the relationship with clients does not end when a contract is signed. Instead, it marks the beginning of an ongoing journey built on communication, transparency, and continuous engagement.
He highlighted the company's approach of providing weekly project updates and organizing site visits every three months, allowing clients to monitor construction progress, visit their projects, and communicate directly with the company.
This approach reflects Prime Developments' belief that clients are not simply property buyers, but partners throughout the development journey.
Integrity as the Foundation of a Stronger Real Estate Market
Concluding the interview, Anwar advised prospective property buyers to take their time, research developers carefully, ask questions, and visit project sites before making purchasing decisions.
He also called on real estate professionals to uphold ethical principles and treat clients' investments as a responsibility entrusted to them.
As he concluded, “Doing what is right may be difficult, but it is stronger and more lasting.” He stressed that building businesses and developments on solid foundations of honesty and commitment is essential to strengthening market stability and restoring clients' confidence.
